RE: Are Beaumonts undervalued relative to Chevelles?

It's like asking why old Canadian-made O'Pee Chee hockey cards are worth a lot more than the same US-made Topps hockey cards (which are rarer).

or

old US-made Topps baseball cards that are worth a lot more than the same Canadian-made O'Pee Chee baseball cards (which are rarer).

It is all driven by the market place.

I stopped to look at a rusty Dodge SuperBee yesterday and the owner has a bunch of cars, one being a 68 Beaumont.
Decent car, good paint & interior with a 97 Vortec350 carb engine,200R trans. disc brake conversion. Asking $12k. It's in Otterville Ont south of Woodstock. He said there's 3 69s around him and he has the only 68.

In America , a Beaumont is just another import :/
That being said , I love the '67 Chevelle.

Chevelles definitely go for more than Beaumonts, but I don't think its 50%. Here's a site with some realistically priced cars. www.classiccarliquidators.com/ They sure love their Chevelles down there, but sites like Ebay do not accurately reflect what these cars are really going for. I don't believe the Beaumonts are 1/2 the price of a Chevelle. Personally, I prefer the dash and the front and rear styling on my 67 to the Chevelles of that year. Can anybody tell me a 68 Beaumont isn't a nicer looking car than the 68 Chevelle? I know a guy who bought a 67 SS brand new and he tells me you bought a Beaumont if you couldn't make a deal on a Chevelle. Its ridiculous because theyre essentially the same car! But that tells me from day one the Beaumonts cost less.

Doesn't matter if its 50% or 40%    theres a difference....

Doesn't matter if you or anyone else likes them better...

its supply and demand  and market conditions.....

Look at the gorgeous L79's of Joe and Suzie    If they were Chevelles they would be long sold...

This site is for Canadian built Pontiacs  and Beaumonts and Acadians

One of your members owns this original paint 68 (pretty much the same as a 69). I'm not sure if he'd want to sell though. It has very low miles.

No it's not Jim. I bought a 67 SS 396 Chevelle from Jim back in 86.

They def. are undervalued, mine appraised lower than I thought this spring. If it were a chevelle I'm sure it would have appraised higher.

Having owned Beaumonts all my life, I would never buy another one. Parts were hard to find thirty years ago, not easier now. Any repop parts that "should" be direct interchange, do not fit proper. Softseal weatherstripping, suppose to be the best, ends do not fit proper, nothing is exact. I'm a purist, I've literally thrown away alot of so called interchange parts, not even close. Never again would I buy a Beaumont. The cars have fought me all the way,ore than any other 60s GM I've owned.

Agreed re the repop's. (However, just thinking out loud re "Softseal weatherstripping, suppose to be the best, ends do not fit proper, nothing is exact", I'm guessing this isn't so much a Beaumont thing as it is a repop thing?)

Wheelwell chrome don't fit proper, takes two guys to line up, twist slightly and manipulate chrome into where it should go, god forbid drill holes for screws that don't line up. Fenders are narrower on top of repops than original and do not line up with cowl vent and A pillar. Hoods are different. Window felts and sweeps grrrr, bought a set and not even close, tossed them in garbage so no one else goes has to deal with them. Had a set custom made from Steele Rubber Products, was not cheap, one felt weighs as much as all the old felts all together. Maybe if they were chevelles I wouldn't care so much, like they say they're only original once. Would be nice to keep the cars exactly the way they came so others will know what is correct and not correct. Frustrating. No problems with restoring the 67 nova, 66 impala, 64 chevelle ss, 67 chevelle wagon, but these Beaumonts not fun, everything on in or around them is a battle. It's only metal, I shall prevail!

we mostly sell Metro SuperSoft weather strip. We fill the blanks with SoffSeal or Steele. But you have to watch Steele as some of their muscle car stuff is repackaged Metro. For 2nd & 3rd gen F-bodies, G-bodies  we like Fairchild but they don't do the A-bodies as yet. As for A-body window weather strip Its TWE (Ted Williams Enterprises)

We have had many of the Parisienne window weather strips reproduced. Give us a call on these

We don't sell kits but usually discount multiple pieces purchases

There has been a couple over the years.  They had one go across in Scottsdale when I was there in 2010.
