Ok, heres the thing. I have spent a bit of time mounting what I think is 65 Custom Sport rear wheel trim on the back of the 66 Grande Parisienne on the drivers side and have mounted the skirt on the passenger side.  I can't decide which way I want to go, so for the moment I'm driving with one wheel treatment on one side and one on the other.   I like what I see on either side so, do I leave it like this (to confuse the witnesses), or go for one or the other? I need input from the folks on here!

I too like them both, sport on one side, elegance on the other, which one is better?confuse My preference is elegance

Open wheel all they way with that wheel and centre cap.

I like to see the full wheels, the skirts make the Poncho look lower (if that's the look you want)

and more "luxury"  than "sport"

My 63 has the "lower" look even though it doesn't  have skirts.

Always liked a Poncho with a "stance" .......makes it look like it's heavy duty muscle.

I vote no skirts.

Had the 66 since about 83 and the 65 since 88.
Both still require a lot of work.

.....If the skirts fit nice, then that is the way to go. And from what I see in the pic it appears that the skirt does fit nicely as it should. It fills out the quarter and gives that full rich look. The wheel is still exposed showing the cap. Skirts don't look good on many cars, but the 65-66 body style to me is a winner.

This is one of the few cars that look good with skirts, but I voted open wheel. This car looks good both ways! Sorry, no help at all...............:)

The skirts look pretty good but I've been removing skirts since I was 16 so not about to change now.

 I tend to agree, Carl (no surpise there) and I plan to use skirts if I run the stock wheel covers and the 14 X 5 inch rims with the bias plys for maybe a car show.  The problem is that it looks kind of unfinished with no skirts with these wheel (whcih si the way it will run %95 of the time) unless you dress up the back opening with the 65 Custom sport? rear wheel trim.  Once you put that on it takes a while to take off plus there are a few screw holes...

I prefer with the skirts for several reasons: skirts always attract attention; the side without the skirt seems like there's something missing; the skirt is more a reminder of the sixties.

However I also like the idea of one side with and one side without.

I've resisted putting skirts on my 65 because it's all original still. However, if I was ever to paint it then adding skirts is one of the things I would do.

I vote every time for "open wheels"     "Because I like" a Muscle car  look   hmm 

but since the Grande Parisienne, was to be in the Caprice class, I guess its really a "OLD MANS CAR"  and deserves skirts....disbelief

 

 

I guess if I wanted a big car with buckets, I better find a Caprice    

 

now to find some photos of Caprices with fender skirts  biggrin
