....drove mine for 17 years, except mine had the 396 . It was a good driving car, fun to shift gears , zip the right rear power window down a shade while cruising to keep the top from blowing up some.......ahhh nice ragtop. Not crazy about the color of that one but wow did he spend money restoring it, ( why ? ) .

This is the car that was originally in Manitoba and found near Gimli MB in a field.  The person who found it did some work to it , and then it went on Kijiji 3-4 years ago for about $13K . I even considered it too , but my timing wasn't right for me .

A buddy from Calgary ( was a member of this site ) bought it and hauled it to Calgary. He then sourced a number of the hard to get NOS chrome and missing pieces, and then decided to sell the project  . It was even offered on this Poncho site with no takers, but then again this is a Poncho site . It did sell quickly and went to the west coast where the current owner did a full out resto . Beautiful job

That's the other car he has, this is a US car that was brought up from the US and was very very rough. Crazy to spend that much money on a car to sell it in a few years after finishing it. .50cents on the dollar return if your lucky.

....some things I just noticed about the car, and I remember mine pretty good, plus I have another 67 SS 327 4spd convert in my graveyard , is that his car has no Impala SS name plates on the lower front fenders or the trunk lid. Every Impala SS had those scripts. His has Chevrolet on the trunk lid like the plain Impala had. Also the fender flags are different. Big block had the 396 or 427 in the emblem, not 2 piece like his are. 2 piece was 283 or 327 . So for a high dollar resto I think someone did not do his homework there. The wood steering wheel I'm not sure about the horn button, but my black wheel had the fancy SS button like I seen on all Super Sports, the wood wheel bowtie button maybe is correct ? 2quik2c can confirm better than me as he knows the 67 SS well.

THOSE ITEMS ARE CORRECT. THIS IS A SS427 NOT AN IMPALA SUPER SPORT WITH A 427. TWO DIFFERENT ANIMALS.

Also with such a beautiful and complete restoration would you not fix the dents on the drivers side in the trunk. My original 67 Toronado has body colour in the trunk, so a 67 Chev would be too I'm guessing.

A CANADIAN CHEV WOULD BE BODY COLOUR. U.S. CHEV WOULD BE SPLATTER PAINT.

Great info. Was this a early year late year thing like the Canadian Malibu ss/ chevelle super sport or could you order both threw the whole year ?

THese were two different cars.

Any Impala could be ordered as a Super Sport, it was really an appearance and trim package, even a six cylinder -->RPO Z03

The SS427 was a pure muscle car with only a 427 available plus other performance upgrades --> RPO Z24  (its not a Super Sport Z03 BUT you could order Z03 and Z24 together if you wanted)

 ..

.......I looked in my Canadian 58-68 GM parts book and there is nothing listed for a SS427.   Impala SS  yes , 427 cross flags like I mentioned but nothing like the ones on the car above. Only thing it lists a hood for a 427 car US jobs,  so am thinking that maybe only the USA cars had this 427 version other than the Impala SS 427.  ????     Thanks for the info.

The SS427 was also made here, St. Therese SS427 cars seem to surface a lot with Caprice hide-a-way headlights.

I don't think hideaway headlights were available until 1968.

Thanks

RPO Z03 didn't come out till 1968.

RPO Z24 (SS427) was only available in the US in 67. Impala Super Sport only in Canada.

DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS NO SS427 IN CANADA IN '67. LEARNED SOMETHING TODAY!smile

IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, 1967 SUPER SPORT WAS IDENTIFIED BY MODEL NUMBER(VIN) NOT OPTION CODE. IS THAT CORRECT?

Yes ... my error  .... the car I was referring to is the other car this seller has restored  ( both red)  ... it was not an SS427 but was a 427 4 spd with doc's if I recall . I guess he is keeping that one.
