I met the owner of this car yesterday. Really nice guy. He did a frame off restoration to the car. He's a little perplexed. He sent the VIN off to George at Vintage Vehicle Services and he got a note back saying "VIN Unknown"
1968 Pontiac Beaumont Canadian-built car. New motor, transmission, all drive train, upgraded brakes to disc. Small block 400HP 3 speed turbo. Way too many new parts to mention. Runs like a new car. NO test pilots. May trade for something interesting like older Camaro or Harley.
American chevelle vin ? Love to see the cowl tag and vin numbers. See if the vin started with a 7 or a 1. Maybe rebodied some time in the past ? This sure would be driving me nuts if I owned that car. Heck its driving me nuts now !!!
I asked him to send me a pic of the cowl tag. When he found the car it had been sitting in a garage for years. It was partially apart and painted yellow. He says it's a Beaumont Custom and it appears the bucket seats are factory installed. He said the VIN on the original 307 matches the VIN on the dash (he sent a pic of the VIN on the dash to George). He knew about the VIN on the frame so I assume it matched too. He's a busy guy who runs his own business so it may be a while before (or if) I hear back from him.
