That price is pretty reasonable for that year. I have over $2K in mine with 4:10's and stock axles.

Anyone know drum to drum width? It's in my neck of the woods.

Yeah, they're not an easy rear end to find.

A few years back I was looking for one. I did come across a couple but they wanted a lot for them and they needed work. In the end, it was cheaper for me to buy a brand new one from DTS Driveline.

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think it's about 60 1/2" from drum to drum.

I wanted one for a 62 Impala because the drum to drum measurement was almost identical.

The 68 and up 12 bolts were more common but the were also wider. The 64 to 67 twelve bolts are pretty scarce.

find a lot of them have had the perches cut off and other ones welded on . Also they have the 4 series so if you want to go back to stock its going to cost.

I just measured mine, its 54.5 inches inside backing to inside backing plate. Online I've read outside to outside is 60.5 inches.

They are actually 54.25 inches from backing plate to backing plate. They are the same width as 1st gen Camaro/Firebird. Alot of guys have found them and converted them for leafs 'cause "F" body 12 bolts are outragous in prices. I have a '65-'67 12 bolt for Chevelle and a '69 "F" body disc brake 12 bolt for sale.Don't know gears or year of the Chevelle rear end.I have done exstensive research on those rear ends.

Hello There

I have a 1966 GM 12 Bolt posi with 3:73 gears on a series 3 carrier with stock 30 spline axles .  The problem that I have is my left side gear has one broken tooth, the right side gear is fine.  You wouldn't by chance have some extra GM spider and side gears, they are hardend and have more metal at the back end of the gear as compared to most after market stuff.

Regards

Dale
