1954 pontiac laurentian

Well maybe time to let her go on to her next home.Up for sale my 1954 Pontiac laurentian 4 door sedan.Car is just a nice driver quality car that could be taken to the next level if someone wanted to or just driven as is.This has been my project and weekend driver for the last 5 years and has had a ton of work done already. It sports its original 75000 mile 239 flathead six motor.Other than some new gaskets the motor has never been touched. All the extra pieces have been rebuilt, generator, starter, distributor, carb etc.It is still running its six volt system. Now instaed of the 3 on the tree this one has its factory powerglide automatic(less than 30% of production have this). It has been rebuilt with a master kit from classic transmission solutions. All the brakes have been rebuilt including new shoes, rebuilt whell cylinders, rebuilt master cylinder, new e brake cables. You won't run into too many around the shows and the car always gets lots of compliments. It has had one repaint about 20 years ago so she does have some chips, dings and whiskey dents. The car is pueblo tan with a white roof.I do have the correct sunsand beige paint for the roof. The car will also come with new inner and outer rockers, new d.s rear bulge out rocker extension, new rear wheel arch panels, new outer quarters,a new set of fender skirts and seals.Tons of other goodies, seals, chrome pieces wtc.The interior is all original except for the carpet has been replaced.A ton of new or replated chrome parts done already.I am probably forgetting a bunch of stuff. Now what really sets this 54 apart, well its number 13 of the line in 1954 and body serial 2 for the laurentians.I have the gm history report to confirm this. Also the glovebox manual,a repair manual, factory brochures, and to top it off a 1954 Pontiac dealership book to go along with it.Thats the book that sat in the showroom with all your colors, fabric samples, options etc.I've only ever seen 3 others.I am putting the car up at 7500.00,i do not need to sell it,not sure I even want to sell it,but space is getting tight with the other projects. So if I get a good offer it will sell,if not I will keep driving and working on it as time allows.Car is located just outside Calgary, alberta.

Brian, your 54 looks sweet just the way it is. Not much to do from where i am sitting. She looks like a real fine car and well worth the money you re asking. Good luck with the sale. Cheers. George.

Hi Kerry
Yes the car has some rust, its from 1954.So here goes the car definitely has some bondo in the drivers side rocker panel. There is also a short jut out piece just before the rear wheel wheel that I know is rusted through. The other area of concern is above the wheel well on the drivers side there is some bondo in there that has cracked(car was painted in the early 80's).Also the rear quarters are loose on the bottoms on both sides.one other area is the number one body mount on the drivers side has rust holes in it although the floors are very solid. Now that being said, the car is still very solid for the year and every panel I have told you about a new replacement panel is included in the sale.Inner and outer rocker panels for both sides, although I think only the drivers side has bondo.A brand new floor brace, the drivers side jut out panel new(not reproduced anywhere anymore)both drivers side and passenger wheel well arches, both drivers side and passenger side lower rear quarter panels. The only thing a guy may need is the bottom inch of the rear inner quarters.I have not ordered them yet cause i'm not really sure if they are needed, but I may order them soon as well.So right there is about 1000.00 dollars worth of replacement panels.Plus a new set of fenders skirts, new skirt trim pieces, new rear door sill plates, new door and trunk seals, etc, etc all included in the sale.If I don't sell it by the end of September it will be going into the shop for the winter and undergoing the panel replacements and a complete paint job. After that I doubt it will go back up for sale.I am still buying parts on a weekly basis as I find them, just in the last couple weeks a new nos set of rear door sill panels(nearly impossible to find),a set of nos front fender gravel shields,a new hood to cowl seal.

Brian, like i said earlier.......... i love your car. It is a sweet deal, all things considered. If you do not sell the car (nuts), then i hope you finish that sweet 54 and enjoy it. She deserves a good home and if it is not someone else's, then i hope it is yours. Cheers. George.

thanks for the comments guys.I am really torn on selling the car as I have put a lot into it already and do enjoy owning and driving it.There is not anywhere I take her and don't end up talking to someone for a 1/2 hour about the car.The only reason I am even contemplating letting her go is I have several other projects on the go and since I am not a millionaire its hard to keep them all.I am still working on the 49 fleetleader special six,i have the 59 stratochief wagon sitting in the wings, planning on using it for a tow car for an old front engine dragster I have eyes on,and then theres the nagging idea in my head about building an outrageous straight axle gasser car that just won't go away.Since I recently located a 64 ford falcon at a steal of a deal its kinda got the wheels really turning.Anyways you know the story too many projects, not enough time in a day, etc, etc.Like I said if it doesn't sell it will be put in the temporary garage in my driveway to free up the garage so I can get the 49 back home and started reassembly. As the weather permits I will do the panel replacements on the 54 and hopefully repaint it in the spring.
