Interesting Ponchos - BC interior

I'm not familiar with these cars but they look interesting!

l'm posting from my phone and don't know how to make the links live but here they are:

1957 4 door.  Looks like a terrific car!

And then we have an Acadian, with lots of spares!

To finish up, there's this 1982 Acadian DIESEL!!!? I didn't know they made such an animal!  Anyone know anything about these?  Did they make these?

That Acadian would be a great commuter car for me. $5500 is a little much in my opinion. The diesel is legit and was made by Isuzu. Same motor was offered in the S10.

Todd, I was this close to getting one a month ago....53,000 original kms. There was a 1982 non-runner for sale at Pick n Pull ( They sell cars that they deem still roadworthy)

It was from Abbotsford and had a Empress Motors sticker I think, no rust, very straight body,automatic...needed injectors and a wash and wax.

Must have sat in a garage for a long time, one oil change sticker on the car said 36,000 kms in 2003.

It had a diesel,I negotiated it for $900. I had a line on another diesel motor for it for $500 (actually 2 with lots of diesel spare parts)

Came back three days later to get it after they did a required roadworthy certification to tell me what was

wrong with it and allow it out of the yard.........long story short,I took a second checking before towing it home,I found in those three days, someone didn't lock the doors,

the ignition had been forced (broken),wires pulled from under the dash, missing parts and trim pieces.

so with the new damages,I couldn't be bothered to shell out a total of $1400 and maybe still not have a running car,so I didn't buy it.

I had a 1985 Acadian (gas) for 8 years...until a couple of years ago when my daughter got rear ended in it.....great commuter car, bullet proof motor and very easy to repair.

Too bad about this one......it ended up in the yard for picking. I happened to be there while they put it in the yard and managed to get some rare parts (in dash clock being one) I'm stocking  up for the "next" one.

I has a Diesel Acadian years ago and liked it a lot, funny part was, at highway speeds, it was almost dead silent, where regular Acadians/Chevettes had a lot of engine roar at speed.

Thanks
Randy

The one downside of those diesel T bodies was I'm pretty sure I could beat it on foot in the 1/8th mile!

Probably, but it would blow by you in the 1/4 !!! LOL   0-60 mph=13 seconds.

Thanks

Randy
