Wow, that is cool!!! Anyone know the production # on this one? Buy it and open up your own business, that thing would be booked every day of the year in Victoria or drive your hockey team to the rink in style. Luv it! and I thought I had a more door no

Thats gotta be one of the most far out things I've seen, but I love it.
Hell, I'd buy it for my own business, throw a ladder rack up top and fill it with painters, perfect crewmobile!

On a side note, what do you think is powering that beast?

That is A LOT of car for the money. That 283 or 327 must have been working real hard, to push all that mass around. You would think it would have been ordered with a 348 or 409 to push that kind of weight around. Neat looking car but i would hate to have to park it.

If we take the ad at face value and the claim that this is a GM Canada Oshawa built and designed car I'd hope it is a 327 with proper gearing for the purpose it is designed for. Surely a properly geared 327 would have no difficult pulling this car around despite its extended length and mass.

Think back to 1964? Most side roads were gravel if not all( at least in my neighbourhood ) Doubt this car ever got above 50 mph, proper gearing in a 283/327 goes a long way. They pull hard and long. Take the booze out of the back and it probably got 1/2 decent milage too. Just might have to replace a few hanger bearings and u joints once in a while.

OK one BIG problem I see with this!!! Who's got a garage "long" enough to get this "sucker" inside????? I might be able to fit it, but would have to remove 1/2 my work bench, to do it!!!!!

Nice pics!

If the 2 Door 7 Passenger Stageway was coming in at 4900 lbs, I don't wanna know how much this Parisienne Wagon weighs

I would be surprised if it's on a Canadian chassis. Anything ever published on the limos has always said they were all US built on US running gear. With that said, it sure does look like a Canadian engine in it though!

In the ad he say "its a Canadian Car originally from BC" and he lists it as a Parisienne, factory built not some custom job.

I just dont get it. To me the whole idea of a limousine is the luxury and decadents.

Why on earth would you step down to a lesser model when ordering a limousine.

In my mind they should be made from top model cars such as Cadillac, Lincoln, etc.nono

The ones like this Pontiac were used primarily as airport shuttles.

I agree, I am sure NOT a limo expert but I thought there were no Canadian limos, especially a factory built one.

The seller never said it was a "GM" factory built.....he said it was factory built, and not a custom built.

From that I got he means it isn't a one off, but was built in a "factory" setting along with other limousines.

From what I've read, only Armbruster or Armbruster/Stageway and later just Stageway built 8 door limos.

They did build Chevy limos and American Pontiac limos,...how Parisienne Safaris got into their line-up would be

an interesting question....done special for the Canadian market?

You make some great points there Greaser. I do think then ihis ad could be misleading since 99% of old car hobbyists take a Parisienne that is a "factory built"  "Canadian car" to mean built at the GM factory in Oshawa.

Yes I agree Ray, that most old car hobbyists think that way. I was on a stationwagon forum and I think the present owner of this limo put this up on the site back in January of 2010.

Here he doesn't say it was built by GM and doesn't know who built it.

Like I said I don't think his intent was to make people think it was GM built...only that it was built in a factory.

Stageway Limo

"Hi John, I'm new to this forum. I saw your post and wanted to let you know that I own a 1964 Pontiac airport limo. I'm not sure if Stageway built it, but it shure looks like all the pictures I've seen of Stageway limos.

I don't know tons about these vehicles, but would like to learn more. Do you have info?

The interesting thing about my limo is that it is a Canadian model (original Chev engine, etc.). It is a Parisienne Safari. It's in great unrestored shape. I run it mostly in the summer, although I started it up on Sunday and took it for a ride in the minus 25 Celsius cold of Winnipeg, Canada. Of course, I let it warm up first and made sure the streets were clear of snow, sand, and salt!

Does anyone know a lot about these cars?"
