Interesting............. $60,000 to $80,000. I would think more like $6,000 to $8,000 in today's "real world". Not that it is not a nice car, just no where near that kind of dough. Just because it is a clone of a movie car, you have got to be freaking kidding me.

sure no, go see what $8k's gonna buy then get back to us!

Go out there and check for yourself what $8,000 will get you in today's crappy market before you make your silly comments.confuse It is a buyers market just in case no one has told you. hmmThe market has never been this bad and for someone to think that this car is any where near this kind of value.................no. A very good friend of mine in Toronto own a 1979 T.A. that he bought new, he tried to sell it two years ago and all the test pilots and tire kickers were just offering $4,000 to $6,000. By the way, his T.A has just over 48,000 miles on it, is all original except for the usual wear items, runs and drives excellent and looks knock out. These are great looking cars but they as well as most old cars today, are not getting any kind of good money. The market sucks right across the board, except for the rich guys club at Barrett Jackson. My intent here was not offend anyone like Brian here, that likes these cars because i like these cars as well. Cheers. George.

Well, that sounds like market to me (under 10) its a 79 not a 77 and not an SE and I'll guess not black and not Burt's car and has 48,000 miles not 12,000 miles -- I also know of a clean 80 here in town orig owner orig paint nice for 12000 but its not Burt's, its, not black, its not a 77 and not an SE ---in the TA world 77/78's are hot, SE's are really hot - check the market - there is a black 78 SE on kijiji in Ontario for 28500 -- a gold 78 SE with 403 sold recently in Ontario mid twenties

you are correct about a weak market - overinflated shows on TV etc... but fact is the storey, condition, history and options will allow this car to fetch more than the estimate

That's right concerning the '77-'78's but let's not forget the very few "SE" '76's w/T roofs. The market is favourable for the '76-'78 SE/Y88 4 speed cars but Pontiac hasn't been able to demand the prices that Chevy can which is too bad. I looked at an '77 Y88 4 speed Bandit car along with factory CB a few years ago that the fellow really wanted to trade for a -get this- a Merlin of all cars!! The car had three build sheets with the Hurst hatches w/ bags. It needed some work but the worst of it was that the previous owner didn't like the Gold engine turned dash so he painted it black. Isn't there a law against that-there should be LOL. Needless to say we passed on it. Wonder where that car is today? Just east of Calgary is a fellow with 3-4 SE/Y88 cars sitting in glass high grass. What a waste. He kept the '80 Pace car in the shed-go figure. Personally I'm a big fan of the "Bandit " cars and the very rare '76 455 4 speed T-roof SE edition. But that's just me of course.........a lot of cars spur my interest.

Well, the car doesn't appear to be a 12,000 mile car from pictures but they were declaring it that way

as for the title, I guess thats kinda the same as here when we say 'true mileage unknown' I was using the 12,000 miles to compare to a non-Burt owned car in the market but in this case it seems his name is driving the price seeing his jacket at $9000

The one item that had a pre-auction value of $150,000-$250,000 was a sculpture by the late Manuel Carbonell,

this was the steal of the Reynolds auction...sold for a mere $20,000.

This piece in a few years will exceed the value of the Trans Am.

....totally agree about the car, value is because Burt sat in it. In 50 years people will be saying who's Burt Reynolds?

The chicken car in Stroker Ace is also up for sale from Burt's estate.

Details:
This car was Burt's personal favorite and he had put over 250,000 miles on it himself.
Clyde Torkle signed the rear trunk lid in 24k simulated gold.
The seats are made from genuine Leatherette imported from Toledo Ohio.
1 coat of custom white pearl-like paint from Earl Schribe was used and wet sanded with a 800 grit da.
Custom Vinylette top was also added.
This unique car also comes with a working Mr. Microphone unit made by Ronco
Dash is decorated with 18 - 1 carat Cubic Zirconia gems
A tune up is needed for maximum high performance and rear main seal is leaking severely however the main muffler bearing has just been replaced
Trailer is required after the sale for pickup

EDIT: THIS CAR HAS BEEN SOLD - $995

The new owner is willing to travel to your local car show with a cash advance but bookings will have to be scheduled around his tour with a local circus. You can catch a glimpse of the car there for a small tent entrance fee.

Not a special car ... especially at that price. Burt must be getting too old to own these things (he was on Fast N' Loud, and he's on a cane) ... or he needs money.
