Wow - now there's a surprise.......thanx a lot Todd......you've made my New Year.
And thanx to everyone for your positive comments.......Lynda, Mike and I love this car and do not intend
to restore it as it runs great as it is.......still has the point ignition - never had a problem with
hot starts or mis-firing.
This Beaumont gets a lot of attention whenever it's out and my son always drives it when he comes to visit.
Love the Canadian Poncho site for the support from a great bunch of gearheads.........
cheers
Bernie

I had one of these back in round 85. It was original white car with red interior. It was changed over to grey/silver paint.Sure miss it.Sold it to a guy in Alberta, got 7500 bucks for it back then. I'm a fan of these babys, lookin good. Well today I've been blessed! Not only did I see a great crested tucan, but with responding to this thread,I was contacted by the owner as of now.the car is alive and well and gorgeous as ever, with the paint job I had done 30 years ago.I'm sorry to disrupt, but I guess the car of the month brought back some memories, and a great conclusion .

Can you tell us what brand of mags are on the car? I just bot 3+1 at a Massachusetts swap meet, and found a closer matching 4th in my junk pile. They're going on Mrs '64 Corvair Monza. Hope I'm not hi-jacking this thread, but with all the new versions of the old wheels, I prefer to run old skool stuff.
Back on topic, I grew up in Montreal, and can't say I recall ever seeing any of that gen SD's, but there was a yellow w white '68 (9?) BB convert w buckets and 4 speed at Dorval airport in 1978. I spoke w the kid, the car was real nice, never saw it again. I'm sure I have pix of it buried somewhere, I suspect being in such good shape after 10 years, it's still around...
And I did buy 2 air cleaner lids off complete engines from a body shop in 1976ish, I still have them, one a 325hp, the other a 350hp, both Pontiacs

Hey Andrew....... .......the wheels are original Keystone ET 14 x 5.75 from the mid 1960's that I picked up about 10 years ago .......they may or may not fit disc brakes. ......all four had been restored but still needed some work......the center cap locating screw holes all needed to be filled with JB Weld and re-tapped.
Center caps are American Racing.
Tires are Coker radial 205 75 14......I chose the 14" set up to closer replicate the 60's look as a lot of cars back then ran 14" since many original tires would have been 14" and if buying after market wheels then you only had to swap the tires around.....most of us couldn't afford a wheel AND tire swap.

...........woooops........that should be 215 75 14.......they are taller than the 205 and look right,
very similar to the original style tires.........

I was at a HMN car show in Saratoga Springs last summer, and there was a guy there with a '69 SD36. I don't recall his name, but maybe he's on this forum. In any case, he was quite knowledgeable about Beaumonts and and had a couple others at home. You can see a video I made at Youtube/CORVAIRWILD/Beaumont. I tried to paste it here, doesn't work, and I wish I knew who the cuty was in front of the car

Yeah, thanks. The owner showed up, we chatted for a while, and I forgot to finish the video!
