1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 Cash or Cash + Trade

Hi guys, here is my car for sale as quoted from my kijiji ad. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1055097530

Thanks for looking everyone.

For sale is my 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88. Just in time for spring!

"The Delmont 88 was introduced for 1967 and produced for just two years, replacing both the Jetstar 88 and Dynamic 88 model lines. The Delmont, which is perhaps best remembered as the car driven by Ted Kennedy at the Chappaquiddick incident in 1969, featured the 330 V8 as standard and the 425 V8 as an option in 1967 and the new "Rocket 455" version of the same engine with a longer bore-stroke in 1968." - wiki

Engine: 8 Cylinders, 330 CI High Output
Transmission: 2-Speed Powerglide
Thrush Exhaust
Original Steel Body
Edelbrock 4 barrel carb,
intake manifold,
rocker covers and air filter

I am the third owner of this car. The motor was rebuilt shortly after I purchased it in 2013. It has never let me down and is a blast to drive.

The interior has natural wear on the driver side and one dime sized rip in the headliner above the passenger seat. The rear is in good shape. Heater works good.

When I bought this vehicle the passenger side windshield leaked, so I had it resealed from Speedy Auto Glass.

It was just freshly painted with PPG's Omni line of paint and undercoated professionally at Krown in Barrie. The underneath is clean.

It comes with the original air cleaner, intake manifold and carb. It currently has Edelbrock rocker covers, air cover, intake manifold and 4 barrel carb on it.

This car sounds really nice with the Thrush on it.

If you are looking for a rare classic that is a real head turner please contact me. Email / Text / Call / Leave a brief message if I am not available.

$9500 or best offer.

No tire kickers please. If you are serious, you are more than welcome to take it for a spin.

Love the car! I didn't know the story of the Delmont ... I've seen a couple of them through the years. Thanks for sharing.

It seems I learn something here almost every day. I never knew those came with 2 speeds.

Is it actually a 'glide or is it that switch pitch converter 2 speed that some other Olds and Buicks used? (Super Turbine 300 I think it was called)?

I think you are right on with this, Carl. The Chevy Powerglide had a different bolt pattern than the B-O-P engines. The Olds would use a Super Turbine 300. The 2-speed was only on the 330 & 350. The Delmont used a 330 in 67 and a 350 in 68, but as was stated the 425 was optional in 67 & the 455 for 68. Those were TH400 only, unless you specified a regular fuel 2-barrel version of those big engine, in which case you could get a Dearborn HD 3-speed manual with column shift.

The Super Turbine 300 family of two speed automatic transmissions were normally called Jetaway in an Olds, and Super Turbine 300, or Super Turbine in Buicks and Pontiacs .

ST- 300's in Buick and Olds used "Switch Pitch," Pontiac wasn't allowed.

All were two speeds but totally different from Chevys Power Glide.

Thanks

Randy
