Ugh! I keep looking at it (I might be 600 of the views today :) )
I don't think it will sell all that quick (there's cars on Kijiji NB that have been for sale for a year). I could probably do $12-1500 and have a feeling it would sell for that price in a couple of months. Problem is my garage isn't big enough for a car this big. The salt air would wipe out the chrome if the car sat outside.

Todd, you'd never be able to sell that car once you had it, face reality its not a desirable collectible or hobby car at all. Forget about it.

... and I find it ugly ... no pop (not because it's a more door) ... just my opinion.

I dunno, I guess it depends on what you want out of the hobby.

If you want an old Canadian Pontiac to cruise around in and enjoy on a tight budget, this is probably just the ticket.  You get that old car feel, the nostalgia of driving a real, original CP that sounds like it doesn't have the typical rust issues of most Canadian cars, etc. at a relative bargain in the old car hobby world.  Even at asking price, what do you get for $3500 in this (or any other) hobby?  Buy it, do whatever it takes to keep it on the road, live with the faded paint, have fun.  If you decide to sell it, even if you lose $500 or $1000, it's the cost of having fun.  Just think of the guys who have sunk $40,000 into a "desirable" hobby car and have to eat a $15,000+ loss when it comes time to sell.

If you want to play in the hobby and not sell your house to do it, this could be the way to do it, as long as you keep in mind your goals and limitations.  If you are looking for a restoration project to sink a bunch of money into and hopefully get it back out in a few years time, then this isn't the car for you.  It's all about what you are into the hobby for.

Honestly, to say it is not a hobby car is ridiculous, with all due respect to Ray.  There are people who would use a similar argument to say that a '73-'77 A-body is not a hobby car (which I also would disagree with).

I agree with MC. This car would be perfect for me to use as an occasional daily driver in the summer. I wouldn't have to worry about the odd stone chip, these cars are so simple to work on and I could still have the "old car" experience. One could also have some fun with it - a BB (or LS) swap would make it quite a sleeper. I'd hate to see it parted for a frame. If I could spare the cash I'd own it. Unfortunately I can't right now.

That car wouldn't need paint. I could have it vinyl wrapped in any colour I want. There's a guy in Ch'town who does it. $1500. Much cheaper than 6 grand for a decent paint job.
