I'm glad you remained faithful to the car and kept it original. Driving that car would be a throwback in time when people weren't always in a rush and poeple knew how to shift a 3-speed column shift.

BTW that engine is a flathead Pontiac 239. It is not a Chevy six. Totally different designs.

Its true.  This forum has taught me probably 75% of what I know about my car over the years. Amazing place and good people.

Interesting that Pontiac was seemingly "behind" with a flathead still when Chevy had an OHV engine.

Shawn, is your 53 running on those classic Cragar SS mags for good now? I am not knocking it, just asking. Those would have to be my all time favorite mags of all time but i have to be honest and say, that i prefer the original wheels and covers. Sweet looking time machine, no matter what. Cheers. George.

Welcome to the club.

Isn't it funny how the eye seems to appreciate the older iron as time goes on.

I could look at that car all night and find more things to like.

Congrats!

That is sure a pretty car, the color is knock dead gorgeous. Gotta love all that chrome, specially those hood ornaments, and the condition of this one in particular. The Gragars are a nice touch!
