Car is not currently inspected but would pass inspection with no problems. asking for best offers because i am not sure how much i really want for it. make me a serious offer

Trivia time....It's a 400, Orange block or Blue Block ? Remember it's a Parisienne.

It will be an orange  SBC, if original. I had a 73 Parisienne I bought in 75 with a 350 Chev under the massive hood, and few years later bought a 74 Safari wagon with a 400. I bought the wagon because I thought the engine was a Pontiac 400, paid for without even looking at it because a friend owned it and told me it ran mint. I wanted a spare engine to build for my Trans Am.

Surprised the heck out of me a few days later when I finally opened up the hood And there was a tiny Orange lump instead of a big Blue one!

Some came with the Chevy 350, others with the Pontiac 400, I had one with a Pontiac 455, It was the 1973 Parisienne Brougham 4 door loaded to the max !

I'm thinking could well be a blue Pontiac 400. By 1971 both Pontiac & Chevy engines were in these cars, and there is space on both sides of the engine compartment to mount the battery.

I'm curious what the answer is??

I've seen both style engines in Parisiennes of the era, but never knew if there was an underlying criteria.

455's were available up to 1976, but I never noticed one with a BBC. (Caprice had a 454 available)

Could it be trailer package, T-400, blue engine??

I believe the Chevy 400's were all T-350's

Guessing over.

Thanks

Randy

The correct answer is in '73 it was in Fact a Blue Block 400 Pontiac in the cars

Earl is right too because Station wagons got the 400 orange Chevy small block.

Just another one of those Canadian Pontiac engine roulette games.

Thanks Ray. I never figured my Safari had a 400 SBC until I seen it under that hood. It really looked tiny sitting in there with no A/C compressor.
