1966 Beaumont

I found out about this car a little while ago and finally got to see it today.  Guy bought it in the spring.  Typical story, it's been stored away for over 30 years.  Anyway  he brought it home and cleaned 30 years worth of dirt off to find what you see here.  I found out the car could be bought for $700.  283 doesn't turn over, needs every body panel replaced, frame work, only saw the spot in the trunk, not sure what else.  Both sides are bad but drivers is the worst.  Any thoughts out there.  I thought if i bought it then at least i'd have it.  They want to get rid of it, well more the wife, because he's got a 68 Chevelle he's working on and he isn't allowed more than one project.  One good thing at least is the Beaumont comes with the ownership.

Well Randy I'll throw a little opinion out there. It is obvious the car needs so much work and the only value it has is if someone loves the car and can do all the work himself. To farm it out would be a fortune and I'm thinking you can get a pretty nice 2 door custom for 20 to 25 grand. You have to do absolutely everything on that car including powertrain and believe me it doesn't happen in hundred dollar bills. I hate to say it but it is almost at the parts car level unless you find you were conceived in the back seat of this car or you have a nice size bag of money waiting to be spent. If they are asking 7 for it and are anxious to sell you may well get it for 5 and there would be lots of parts to cover that I think. I bought a 66 4 door hardtop that was pretty solid but had been hit and I probably got close to $1500 of parts out of it. The 66s have a lot of unique parts.

WoW,WoW,WoW, Not an expert on these cars by any means but when the frame and inner door shell are gone you have a major! Think most cars of this area will always need outer sheet metal. Can't believe the sunken back window isn't rusted out, always seemed to hold water. Beltline trim, radio, emblems, grill, bu lights etc. The door panels look in nice shape. Would think worth it even if can't repair. Like stated no expert, just my opinion.

Unfortunately it is too far gone for repair, but an excellent source of parts to keep others going. As the owner of the same model if this was in my area I would pick it up for that price, there are some desirable parts there and you should have no problem making a bit of hobby money.

 Yep.

I would think the reverse lights might be toasted on this car, but you never know! There is a big demand for '66 reverse lights in good condition.

For $500.00, I'd go for it as long as you have an inexpensive way to get it home, and then transport the remaining carcass (after you tear all the good stuff off it) to the scrappers.

It does have some good parts on it and if i did get it i'd be hoping the back up light housing were in good shape. Not sure if i'm going to get it. Besides the cost of buying it i'd still have to get it home. If i don't go for it i'll post the phone number for the guy. It's down in the Tillsonburg, Ontario area.

I don't think I've ever seen a car that "straight" and that far gone. (Other than the time capsule Oklahoma car that Boyd C was involved with).
Yes, lots of unique unreproduced parts. Signal lights, reverse lights, rear bumper, tail panel, rocker chrome, hood spear, radio, horn button, grille, wheel covers, Beaumont badging. Well over $700 I'm sure. (I wonder how "untouched" that engine bay is? Might be a good library picture...)

I would be a good candidate for a second life as a race car.

Add to the list of unreproduced....the Custom only model upper beltline trim.  If someone picks this up I would be interested....The door panels and dash pad look good too! An interesting observation about the engine compartment is the lack of rad support to rad spacer and the pre "66 non crossflow radiator....
