Cool 4-door: '60 Olds flat top on kijiji NB

I've always been a fan of this roofline with its acres of glass and thin pillars.  Quintessential late fifties/early sixties whimsical design, IMHO, styling would never be taken to these extremes ever again (talking about all '59-'60 GM cars, not just the Olds).

I like the Vista roof line as well however Olds and Buick never executed this as well as Cadillac, Pontiac and Chevrolet. Its is an intersting find but I'ld leave it to the die hard Olds fans.

I disagree a little, Ray, as I think it carried over quite well to the '59 Olds.  The '60, yeah, not so much.

'59 was the high water mark in terms of this styling, I'd agree that the 59 Olds is neat, the 60 is a 'turd. Even a 60 Pontiac is kinda like that game we'd play at school, which object doesn't belong.

'59 was as far as they could go, they were cropped for '60, and evolved into '61-on.

While I agree that '60 Olds and Pontiac were cropped a lot more than Chevy, Buick, and Cad, I would hardly call them 'turds'.  But beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, for sure.  biggrin
