That's what I'm trying to avoid, moving tons of useless (to me) junk. We've been in this house 22 years and I'm finding many many things, including car parts, that moved here with us 22 years ago. There is NO reason for that stuff to move again, no way.

We've already moved some stuff to the local thrift store, and there will be more (NOT car parts though!)

Did you buy the whole power brake disc conversion, or just the basic kit with rotors and bearings, calipers and brackets?

I assume you just use the same backing plates that are already on the car?

Hi Carl

Because I had already had the twin master and the proportioning valve I got the kit without those. I can't remember if the backing plates are used of not, I will check later this morning and provide some photos as well.

Hi Carl

The old backing plates are removed. Since I don't drive the Pontiac in foul weather I never gave it much thought. I would think that some backers from a S10 might be useable. Here are some photos of what it looks like.

I initially did this conversion with a CPP kit and also found it it to be 'crappy' as far as quality goes.  Although the kit was supposed to be for 65-66 B body, I believe it was actually for an A, due to the rotor size etc., and pretty sure that 15" rims were required.  Also didn't like how it increased the track width by close to 1/2" per side, quite noticeable in appearance.  Since then, converted it to 69 Impala disc so now have larger 11" rotors with actual Delco calipers and track is original.
