posi diff

I have got a posi diff out of a 68 Bonneville station wagon that I took a motor out of, from the research I did it is a 8.875 12 bolt diff that is suppose to be rare and quite strong, if I am wrong maybe somebody on the forum could correct me, looking to get $300 or maybe trade for some parts for my 67 Beaumont, like maybe a grill or interior parts, can't really get a pic of it in the car but if somebody is interested I will cut it out and post a pic

Check the cover, count the bolts, I don't think it will be a 12 bolt in the sense we think of, as in Chevy style 12 bolt. I could be wrong but I don't think Bonneville ever used them.

I'm right near the Manitoba border. the cover is 10 bolt but the guts are 12 bolt. if you research Pontiac diffs you will find some info on them(hard to find). I found info on jdrace.com. if you go to the ten bolt tab then click the fullsize tab if gives you info on the diff and shows they came in 68 bonnevile wagons. I have found info on other sites but like I said it is hard to find, you have to google Pontiac or bop difs

correction : if you go to jdrace.com you first have to hit the differential id tab  ,then 10 bolt, then full size, then it shows you all the info on the diff and a picture which looks exactly like the one I have

They're totally different that a Chevy 12 bolt.  Would be great for someone with a late 60's fullsize US Pontiac (Bonneville, Catalina, Executive and likely Grand Prix)

Yes, I believe the 12 bolt Chevy diff is a 30 spline axle which won't be compatible with this one, again, if I am right. I'm subject to correction though!

How far are you into Ontario crazytrain? I do regular trips to our cottage just west of Vermilion Bay.

Ok, cool, we have friends on our lake from Dryden. Their son works at the high school, Hodgkinson? You might know him if you have kids in school.

It won't fit a 64 as a bolt in.
