Here is a link to an interesting Hemmings article on the lone surviving of 2 prototype El Camino-like 1959 Pontiacs. The article  was published 11 months ago. Curiously they refer to it as a 1960 model. Take a look and tell me I'm not crazy and that it is a 1959 model.

Strange the article called it a 1960 El Catalina and not a 1959........Hemmings should know better.

After having a 2 door wagon in 1955 -1957, Pontiac never bothered to introduce a 2 door wagon or a sedan delivery after that,

but was thinking of a El Catalina. But Canadians did continue with 2 door wagons, but not in 1959.

I once owned a 1958 Pontiac sedan delivery. Was a dream of mine but too far gone so I sold it for a hundred or two dollars to a guy who sold it to an american for a few thousand. I've since learned they were a very low production number. I'll try to post a picture of it when I find it.

Isn't it amazing that these passed through time and hardly anyone ever knew about them. I would sure like to see some of these created. Can you imagine how wild this would have bee as a 60's show custom with the pearl &flakes and panels and....
