No longer on oil, highest I remember was maybe 1.10-1.20. Over $1.00 was unusual. Our diesel went up to $2.30 today, a bit wacky jump.
Went up another 9 cents today, $2.39.

When $2.00 liter sounds like a good deal.when will this end? Is it the Russia/Ukraine crisis, taxes, greed, a a government conspiracy to move us to electric cars? A little of it all? IDK but its getting ridiculous.

It's everything except government conspiracy (please Lord, don't let us go there!). Toss in some supply/demand and supply chain issues and you've got it. As a planet, we're going through a rough patch at the moment, but it will get better like it always does.
Unless some nut job pushes the nuke button, then the price of gas won't matter so much.

I agree, sort of a rhetorical question on my part and conspiracy comment was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek too
Regardless of the issues it sure hurts the pocket book especially on our old not so economical toys! Ive been fortunate to be working from home since 2020 but feel for all those that have to commute or buying fuel is part of their business costs
We put on a lot less miles than we did in years past. I'm sure happy to be retired.
A friend of mine is looking at a job in Winnipeg (out of necessity, family situation) and commuting from Morris. He has a 10 year old F150. He says his gas bill will be $880/month if he doesn't change vehicles.
I was out for a walk to day and my neighbour commutes. His gas bill on his new Silverado to drive to the city for work is just over $1000/month.

Wow, thats what my mortgage payment used to be but just did some quick calcs and if I still worked in Langley and drove my F150 it would be close to $800 too.yikes!
I have a friend thats been an Owner Operator contractor with a 1 ton cube van for same regional courier service the last 10 years. He was saying his net income has dropped close to a $1000/month since the major spike in costs.
Strangely, we're only up about 40% on average. But that is from a very high base before Putin. Of course we're still paying roughly twice what you guys and gals are in North Merrica. The plus side is I can still buy 5% Ethanol Super Unleaded with a 98 Octane rating for my daily driver.
Just looked at my figures again. We're actually only paying about 20% more, not sure why that is. Exchange rates might have a lot to do with it, the Pound's taken a beating over the Atlantic lately, although we're still doing ok against the Euro.
Took " Sherman" to Island Gas yesterday with 1/4 tank and pumped $120 of "non ethanol" Premium into him, didn't fill it [just over 3/4 tank at$2.02 a litre !!! Think this is going to "curtail" going to shows [if any start] and same for cruise nights, again if any start up?? Tuesday night one in Port Perry is cancelled already!!!
