1965 Parisienne Differential Interchange

Hey guys...I want to replace the entire rear end in my Dads 1965 Parisienne and put in a 12 bolt Posi unit.

What rear ends will bolt right up? I know the 1965-67 Parisienne rears ends should work no problem but

what about a 1966 Impala Rear End? Or a Rear end from a 1968 Bonneville? I am having trouble finding any

information that would tell me what is interchangable for rear ends.

Any Information would be appreciated. Thanks!!

1968 Bonneville is definately a NO, but the 1966 Impala is the right candidate.

Generally, you're looking 65-70 Impala, Caprice, Bel-Air & Biscayne, as well as 65-70 Parisienne, Laurentian & Strato-Chief.

However, I'm hoping someone else chimes in as I think you need to verify whether you have 1 or 2 upper control arms.  I believe 65-66 some had only 1 upper control arm, where as most had 2.  Might have had to do with whether 6 cylinder car or not.

Generally, 10 bolt has 1 upper arm, 12 bolt has 2, holes are in the frame to bolt in the second arm if you get 1 with the rear end, would work without but kinda defeats the purpose. Easiest change would be stick to 65, 66 full size Chevy/Cdn Pontiac.
65 - 70 should interchange with minor differences in regards to brake hose and brake cables. Should be able to mix and match enough to make work.

What he said above,   I did this to mine, went from 10 bolt single upper to 12 bolt w 2 uppers with little trouble.  The only exception was i utilized adjustable upper arms.  Don't believe any US built car of similar year will fit.....
