I take it no substantiated rumors of 425hp cars? I don't recall any in the (edit: Canadian-built) Impala for '69 either.

Just think how cool this would have been if offered in Post Sedan Eh.

He wanted a new Blazer with a big block, but as it wasn't available, he also ordered the Strato Chief.

The Pontiac dealer swapped the 307 into the Strato Chief and the 427 into the Blazer.

The Pontiac dealer honored the 307 Strato Chief warranty and the Blazers 427 .

He no doubt would have bought a Jimmy, but I don't think they came out until the next year, 1970.

The Pontiac dealer had no problem ordering a 390 H.P. Strato Chief, and doing the swap, but the Chevy dealer said a 390 H.P. could only be ordered in an SS 427, 335 H.P. in other models. They probably just didn't want to get involved.

I was at the dealers shop the night they were swapping the 427 emblems out and installing 350's as there were no 1969 Strato Chief 307's. Big secret, don't tell anyone!!

It would be something, years later for someone restoring the Strato Chief to get G.M. docs.
A dealer un installed 427 !!!
