Rally One GTO wheels on my 66 GP?

I have a dilemma. I'm cleaning up for our move, and if I'm not going to use my GTO rallies on my GP, I'am going to sell them.

Good idea to use them on the car, or do they just look "wrong" for that car? I had them on my 65 Acadian and loved them, but I'm unsure about using them on a B body.

For those who are not familiar with how they look---

I think they look great...   but I don't think you will find tall enough tires in 14 inch    but 15 inch plain rims are getting very scarce     as usual it how You want it

That's what worries me. I am SO torn. I really want to run stock GP spinner covers, or 14" small centre Pontiac rallys, or these Rally I's but I don't think I can find a big enough 14" tire. Arrrrrrrgh.......

Agreed, there's a guy in our area with these on a Beaumont and they just look natural on there. Beaumonts and Acadians seem to love these.

How big a tire are you looking for ? I just bought some nice white-walled Hankook tires that fill the wheelwell of my 68 2+2 pretty nicely.

Ideal for me would be a 235 70 14 but nobody makes it. What did you put on? Can I see some pictures please?

215/75 R14.  No pics until the car is out of storage.

I wanted to go 225/70, but I couldn't get whitewalls in that size.

Looked on Costco.

215 70 14 - 25.9in. tall $119
225 70 14 - 26.5in. tall $122
235 60 14 - 25.1in. tall $138 (to short)

In comparison a G78 14 is 26.7" tall.

I think those rally I's would look pretty fine on your GP with the 225's.

I just had an idea.

How about the GTO wheel with the unique Canadian centre cap?

Thoughts on this combo? I don't remember ever seeing this done before.

The trim ring is not right, it's just an old 14 inch ring I had around.

Will look great  biggrin   14 inch will do ...  most of those cars sat very very low anyway...   maybe its the fender shirts that made them look....

I came front a era or area, where cars were raised up, and that look is still in my memories...

After watching Gas Monkey garage and Counting Cars,   I'm getting used to the "on the ground" look......

I have the skirts but I think they will be on the shelf.

I'm warming up to the idea of Rally I's with Canadian centre caps.

I think they would look great with either cap, but with the trim rings at the top. Always wished they would have made them in a 5x5. If it were me though I would sell the ones you have and put that money towards some 15" reproductions so you can have more tire options. www.wheelvintiques.com/wheels/muscle/59-series-pontiac-rallye-i.html

I'd love to but that's just not something I can do financially on this low budget project (and said budget is already blown to pieces on this car...)

A set of those 15's would cost me well over a $1000 Canadian dressed. The rims alone would be $700 by the time I got them across the border. At best, I might be able to get 1/2 that out of selling my 14's.

Does anyone here have a 225 70 14 on a 65-66 Pontiac? I'd like to see it, and also ask if you could measure from the ground to the middle of the centre cap for me.

All I can offer is that I've got 15"x7" rallys on my 66 and with 60 series tires it seems to have exactly the same ride height as stock.
