Mechanics, This car is an amazing no factory option driver that could be driven daily. It is leak free and very tight with no rattles etc.
- Original 389 motor, Complete rebuild by Morley Performance. I have the original pistons, cam, bearings, springs, etc to see it was original and very light use 56k. the only reason it needed a rebuild was the leaky old seals and gaskets. I have the rebuild paperwork on engine and heads. Of course all new hoses, belts, thermostat, etc. Has petronix electronic ignition for some added spark. This engine runs great with a mild cam, correct 4bbl intake and the correct Carter AFB carb, a slight jet change over stock this motor came alive, and runs great with a low idle. Car will also come with the original 2 barrel intake, carb, air cleaner if you want it.
- Original Transmission, 3 spd hydromatic, shifts perfect, so did not need a rebuild just a good cleaning, filter change, new pan gasket and complete fluid change.
- Cooling: Runs cool all day long with original Radiator.
- Rear end: Pontiac 9.3, Positraction with 342 gears.
- Brakes: Drums on all four corners, rebuilt and stops great.
- Suspension: All new springs and shocks, it sits at a bit higher than stock.
- Exhaust: All new, turbo mufflers sound great without waking the neighbors.
- Steering: Very tight with no slop.
- Tires and wheels are new.
Interior: Wow this is an amazing interior with very little to no wear.
- The dash to the carpet is all excellent shape hard to believe its from 1964 with no issues or even fading. Speedo lens is crystal clear. A quick look under the dash shows all the wiring is stock and untouched, even the firewall insulation fully intact and looking new. Heat, Dash lights, turn signals, hi low lights, wipers, everything works, no issues. Even the glove compartment liner is in great shape.
- Radio Delete. Map light delete. Mirror delete
- Seat Belts: I added the Blackbird Belts as the originals didn't look great but both sets will come with the car.
- All window cranks and handles are nice and tight with no rattles and work great. Weather stripping is original and excellent shape with no need to replace.
Body: Factory Silver with a Black top looks great on this car.
- The paint is original to the car with one exception, the passenger front fender had a repaint a long time ago. Yes, the paint has some fading and patina but looks great as is, its an original paint car.
- All the weather stripping is stock original and still pliable with plenty of life left in it. Again, amazing shape for a car this age.
- Rust: There is some surface rust as you can see on the drivers front fender, and some below the stainless rocker trim, but is very sound.
- Trunk: The picture shows that the rear body mounts have been replaced, common on the catalinas of this era. A poor paint match in the trunk makes it a bit more obvious, but can easily be cleaned up with correct trunk paint. The trunk floor is again very solid with original spare tire and mount.
- Bumpers: Look great, chrome shines bright as you can see in the photos. No dents or dings.
- Glass: Clear with no pitting or cracks.
- Doors: No rust at the sills and open and close like new with no sag.
- Trunk and Hood: Close easily as well with no issues.
