door switches


has anyone else run into door switches that are too long ?

That is the shoulder type,you need the one with no shoulder that depresses all the way in. Just picked up 2 for mine from Lordco. Can get you a part # when I get home.

ACTUALLY, they should be adjustable.... the factory ones are... Install them and gently close the door... Once the outer tip of the switch closes to it's full travel, it is designed to "push" that sleeve in to allow proper switch activation. Most times, people replace them because they will not turn off the dome with the door but will when you press it with your finger... In that event, you take a pair of pliers, grab and pull the outer pin and pull. This "resets" the length of the sleeve to full length... Try it first...
