I bet it would in PEI or NS, as long as it had lights and brakes and could see by a big blower hood. It only has to meet the standard for year of production and even the police don't know what is correct. Insurance might be "interesting", not sure what questions they ask. Our DOT are not as proactive as in Ontario for instance, our old car population is low and our traffic is way less dense. Driving this car on the 401 around TO, the 120 one minute and then stopped the next minute, is not comparable to what you see around here.
In my 59 at a RCMP road stop, the officer asked me if it was OK that I had no seatbelts and no motor vehicle inspection sticker.
