I hope someone here has that answer. I've seen tons of SS's, wagons, big block cars etc that DON'T have the big bar.

I'm not an expert, but at times there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to which car got the 15/16" front sway bars.  If you need one, I've got one that's already been blasted and painted semi-gloss black.  Could probably get a set of bushings for it to throw in, just let me know.

Hope your deal on that bar works out for you Greg. Did he say the details on what car/engine etc it came on?

My 69 2+2 hardtop has a factory 15/16" front bar. The car was ordered with the hd spring option F40 (not F41 ride and handling) and has the L48, M38, 2.73 posi for a powertrain.

Interesting. I've looked at many many big block cars with the small bar. I've looked at F40 cars with the small bar. I'm sure F41 would come with it, but it would seem logical that wagons, big blocks etc would have used it and that sure is not the case.

I just figured it was standard on all 2+2's. I doubt it would be included in the F40 since that was about loading capacity for guys who loaded up their trunks or towed. My car shows no sign of having ever had a hitch.

15/16" was the standard bar on all 68-69 Tempests and LeMans' with standard suspension (1" when Y96 was ordered). But all full size 69 American Pontiacs and Firebirds (except the TA) came standard with a 3/4" bar, with 7/8" as part of the Y96 on the big cars. No optional bars on the firebird and the TA and the GTO had a 1" bar with no optional bars.

Strange logic to this.

If it was the same as 65 and up, (which I believe it was) it would be 13/16".

Is the F41 bar 15/16" as well or is it larger?

I notice that the F41 is -only- available with the 427/390 engine. What's so crazy special about it, just a rough ride that people might not like unless they're the kind of person that would order a 427/390?

I am pretty sure it's safe to say the F41 front bar is 15/16".

The crazy thing is, at least one of the parts books I have doesn't even acknowledge the 15/16" front bar, it lists only the standard front bar.
