A year ago Remembrance Day my Dad and I went to this guy's place because I heard he might have some '68 parts that I could use on my'68 Grand Prix project, never met him before so I knocked on the door and inquired and he mentioned that his stuff was for his '70 but would we like to see the car anyway, so we said sure, he took us down to his storage building and opened the door and showed us his custom F-150 pickup which didn't do anything for me really but when i saw the '70 it sure was a clean ride, 400 Pontiac under the hood,& IIRC it had an Edelbrock intake on it , very clean all around, rechromed bumpers, the vinyl top if I owned it would get replaced it was not cracked but did have a slight tear about the size of a quarter on the driver's rear sail panel and was starting to shrink abit from the edges. Trunk was clean as was the interior and new dual exhaust as well, he also had an extra hood and I think a set of doors. @ That time he said he would sell it for $10,000 which still wasn't bad for a clean solid American Poncho, I really like the color suits it well.

He had some other vehicles on his property and then gave us a tour of his huge garage to show us his shop and one of the nicest collections of automobilia and antiques that I have seen in this region Just like an episode of Cdn. Pickers, he was very knowledgable on every item and a few of them he tried to stump us on but we knew what they were as I like to collect stuff as well. All in all I think what was originally meant to be a 10-15 minute visit turned out to be about a 2 1/2 hour visit and a nice way to spend the day with my Dad roaming the countryside before winter sat in that year.

I was quite surprised to see the car listed again especially @ the price, I'd be all over it if I didn't have my GP to finish and my '70 GS is just about wrapped up on it's resto for this summer's cruising. I think the car is very sharp and certainly a bargain @ this price he has it listed for currently, I hope that he hasn't feel ill with health problems or such, he was about early to mid 70's in age, seemed sharp as a tack and moving about fine that day we were there, maybe just wants to downsize his stuff, cars, etc. but I'm sure anyone on here would be very happy with this car especially for that price.

Thanks for the update Jeff. If I were in the market right now I'd at least take a look at it.

It looks pretty good to me. The 70 Catalina had the same interior as the Laurentian.
