What are my odds of finding a 1969 427 Emblem?

The project I'm looking at picking up (and original 427 car) is missing one of it's engine emblems.  There are likely more clones than original big blocks out there, so there's never been much of a supply of them.  I grabbed an NOS pair back in the 80s, but they're in use.  I could get one for cloning though and wrote to a "3d Small parts" company to see if they can duplicate it.

Failing that, do they ever come up for sale?  I've never seen one, but then I wasn't watching for them either.  Maybe someone has one (or a pair) they've been saving.

Should I be looking at cloning one or hunting for one?  I'll do both, but have no idea if there are any out there to find.

The one I need has the 427 above, not integrated into, the V8 emblem (I think that's 68, I need 69).

Someone has a pegboard full of them... and an odd number of them at that. Any chance the hoarder will part with one to complete my pair?

Yes, my Laurentian had NOS 427 emblems put on it back in '77. They were near mint when I had the car.

I won't look too hard until I have the car in hand with the faded missing area... kind of like a puppy, people might feel sorry for it! Right now I'd just be a greedy parts hoarder without a car to put it on!

Its kind of scary even driving around with a car that has those rare emblems.  You tend to get a little paranoid. At least yours are fairly robust but the Grande emblems on my 66 are both rare and flimsy. I've been meaning to get some repros made on a 3d printer but have never gotten around to it.

Does anyone do the engine call out decals on the air cleaner lids? I only have the 350-300 on my 69 but they are barely legible

Hello John, I've pasted a link to an old thread I prepared, it may interest you in general however the fourth post has links to decal suppliers. I personally use Bruce Levey and find him to offer very good customer service and delivery. He does list the Astro Flash 350- 300 HP decal for $10.

Click here for engine names and decals

The engine air cleaner stickers are reproduced but not as original; the originals have a 3D raised/embossed texture to them. But they're otherwise close.  The pictures in that thread are of reproductions (for the 1969 year anyway).

Here's an example where you can kind of see itL

Osborne used my breather to make the 350-300 horse decal when I had my 2+2.
