Is there a (easy) way to make bucks for a driver side quarter panel from an existing passenger side quarter ... just wondering? Have you done something like that?

I'd actually have to have the parts in front of me to visualize it.

there is a reason why I haven't made panels for myself even though I need five sets for the past 4 years, I paid a couple of grand for the originals to make the molds up and they take about a month a side, the bending of sheet metal is relatively easy, if it wasn't a paying job I probably still wouldn't have done it, so to answer you no you need both sides to make bucks , now I have a friend whom has a 64 and will need repairs done so I could at some point make patterns up but im in no rush, its a royal pain and I will need more orders to make it worth while. I was quite frankly waiting for that Pontiac guy in the states make them up but since that was a stop drop I got motivated.002.jpg006.jpg007.jpg013 (2).jpg

here are the two panels side by side and a daytime pic of the quarter mounted, all that's left is some body finishing and the inner fender drop offs which support the front of the quarter and positions it, if I have time ill make up one set before I run out of metal.002 (2).jpg001.jpg003 (3).jpg

all done and ready for shipping, the all important front quarter drop off that makes the quarter sit right and its a pain. to build for being so small. you would think they were identical but they are adjusted for fit from side to side. im gonna do one more pair then take a break maybe.002 (3).jpg001 (2).jpg003 (4).jpg005 (3).jpg003 (3).jpg

65Wagon did these for my Dads 1965 Parisienne he is restoring. What an amazing job. We took delivery of them yesterday. Craftsmanship is second to none and he offered advice on installation and adjustments. If you need these patch panels done I recommend getting in contact with him. He is also more than willing to answer questions (from a first time restorer) and was great to deal with. Thanks Again! My dad is going to be beside himself when he sees his car done. We also did a full body off that included a frame swap.

I will post pictures when the car is done. Thanks again 65Wagon!!!!

i  still haven't received any indication of whats going on, I know it seems funny of me needing good pictures of the damage or seeing the car, but its so I know how to build the part so I don't build to short a part or to complicated which takes more time .each part is custom built for the application, im also doing my own I have templates of the inner structure which is needed for the panel to fit correctly , but again pictures are needed.

That is some sweet metalwork. What kind of prices are involved ? I'm looking at the section from behind the door to the back of the wheel well. This is on the drivers side.

024.JPG008.JPG001 (3).JPGso you need something like this.all the parts to build the inner structure plus the outer skin, do you know a good welder

some of the inner structure may be the same as 65 impala but don't quote me on it, without the inner parts fitting properly the outer skin wont fit well. were are both of you located, im in northern alberta
