Refurbishing the hood latch and noticed that the safety or second latch is made up of multiple layers of rubber where it catches on the hood. This can't be stock is it?
Does anyone have a pic of this catch that sits on the hood? Does it just catch on edge of hood?

I may be mistaken then Brian, as I see that as the main latch and the hook that catches the hood as the secondary latch and that is where my question is. Does the J type hook just catch the lip of the hood or is there suppose to be something there that it catches on? Mine is all apart now but I will get it back on and then take a pic as to my question if that is needed.
I'm not explaining myself well here, the J hock on the latch is the safety( I think) and I would like to know what it makes contact with on the hood? Mine right now just catches the lip of the hood and I was wondering if that is correct or am I missing a part? The hock seems to work but looks/feels hooky?
