61 Impala 4 dr on kijiji NS

Looks like an original car, but it's hard to tell the extent of the bodywork required from the photos.  Also says comes with 348, but I assume that means it's not a 348 car?  Does the "V" emblem on the trunk lid indicate a V-8 car at least?

Given the rust visible on the fenders and rear valence/quarters, to me it looks like it would be a safe bet at half the asking price. less if the floors/trunk are rotten.

There are people out there that would kill for that patina.

'348'' car trunk emblem with cross flags. 283 car did not  have the crossed flags in the emblem so this is only a '283' if correct emblem is on the carImage result for 348 X flags trunk emblem

Wow a 348 but i will bet she is a real bucket of rust. Still i have always loved the looks of the 61 Impala. This is obviously too much money for this car, unless it comes with a rebuilt fresh 348. That is real interesting looking rust on the fronts of the the front fenders. Was this common on the 61 Chev's.

61 Chevies all rusted there, the inner fenders on 61's and earlier were not good at keeping road splash from getting up there. 62 and later were much better.

I saw this car, sold the guy 2 right side doors, which he hasn't installed. It has a running 348 from a fire truck in it if I remember correctly, I never heard it run. I think the trunk was good and bottoms of doors were good, floor not too bad. I didn't look at it really closely. The right side doors had some minor damage. The car is worth looking at, the truck 348 would work fine, if it didn't need a rebuild. Low compression, about 7.50 in a truck 348, but with some work and money, they can be made up to 350-500HP. The owner is a member of Halifax Antique car club. Its low mileage, look at those original seats.

Corvairs of this vintage were also bad for rusting in the same spot- above the headlights.

Sounds like it is in better shape than indicated by the photos.  This looks a classic case where higher quality and more complete photos would help sell the car IMHO.

Neat car - always liked the styling of the '61s.  More project than I'm able to take on at the moment but looks like it could be a good one for somebody with a shop.  Thanks to all for the input.

Yep, on a "rust stabilized" car.
