I hear you guys, and totally understand where you're coming from. Right now I have some toyo 800 ultra touring thin white line that I could put on it for the rest of the year to drive around and might love them on the car who knows!
I went to pick the car up last saturday, everything went well...even if the brake were ceased! Good thing I brought a winch to get her on the trailer... First thing I did on the car was to take wheels, drums, brake cylinder shoes, gas tank, gas pump....Just like Al said, gas tank had pinholes at several locations....drums were in a perfect shape, brake cylinder and shoes have to be replaced, gas pump is GTG as well, needed a quick clean up and that is it....I spent 3-4 hours under the car with some scotch brite to scrub grease and dirt off........THIS CAR IS LIKE NEW!!! I will post pics shortly. I also took the seat cover off of it interior is in and incredible shape, despite the fact that it hasnt been clean in 65 years. I took some Simoniz carpet and fabric cleaner and after 4-5 hours of scrubbing, carpets and seats are just like new, I can't believe it... I will keep you posted
Gas tank, brake cylinder, shoes, tires and every hoses were changed car is washed up and paint has been professionally polished, gas in the tank ready to fire up and....NO SPARK! heading to an autoparts store to get a new coil...
