I'm looking for one used Strato Bucket seat cover. Bottom and back. Just one is fine.
Doesn't have to be in particularly good condition, just good enough that I can take it apart to use as a general pattern, and to see how it's built.
The plan is to actually build my own covers using nos material, replicating the 67 Grande Strato Bench type pattern. Do it as it would have looked had a cloth/vinyl Strato Bucket been available in a 67 Grand. The 2 door Grande offered an all vinyl, but no cloth/vinyl combination. I have a pair of mint frames, 67 no button backs, side trim, 6 way power and the requisite floor mounts and fasteners. My wife is an expert sewer, and we plan on buying an used industrial machine and doing this together. I suspect the cost to hire this out would be beyond extreme. Plus being another "Black Art" thing, It's something I'd like to tackle.
If I can get an old cover we can probably put a working pattern together. The original cloth and vinyl is available from SMS auto upholstery, and I have gotten samples already. I'll use ACI cushions, and everything else, tools and misc is readily available on line. As well as lots of posts and tutorials.
Ambitious project to be sure, but it takes off, this would be a great winter project. This along with the completion of the center console. I think It would be totally awesome in my 67 along with a new carpet and would make for a great post to boot.
Mark, to give an idea of what it cost for a similar project, I had the seats done in the black 66 Grande Parisienne that Tom ended up with. He completely rebuilt the seats as far as padding, springs etc, and they both needed quite a bit of work. Then he built the covers completely from scratch. I supplied him with measurements that Ken (66GrandeGuy) was kind enough to take for me.
I paid about $2200 for the whole project as I recall.
Thanks Carl, I remember it well Carl, how could I not.. Totally awesome. Had to put sunglasses on just looking at it! $2200 for all that is very good.
I suppose I could try to price it. But living in the GTA, you can probably expect to pay through the nose. That, even if I could find someone to take this on.
I have no idea where to even begin. This will be a process. Even getting the material out of SMS can be tough.
Maybe someone could steer me here...

My guy here would do it, I know he would. He is quite the craftsman. He did covers for Ken's buckets and rear seat (with folding armrest) after he did mine. Ken sent his buckets here and got Stan to install the covers right away too if I remember right.
