sending unit fuel outlet question......replacing it

ok so i'm putting a brand new fuel tank on the car and haven't dropped the old one yet but I can't see me using the old sending unit especially since my supplier can get me one for $50

there is the 5/16 and the 3/8 unit though.

Currently it's a 283 with a 2 bbl but i'm putting the qjet on it and who knows what else in the future. Should I go for the larger one or will I run into issues? Also was going to replace the fuel lines complete as well because i'm fussy that way.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hutch

Put the big one on right away. Almost all q-jets use 3/8" fuel lines.

Did you buy the tank already?

I don't know that any are really bad but Spectra is made in Canada and has a name second to none for fuel tanks.

Keep the old original sender though. They can be refurbished, and the replacement units are of much lower quality compared to the old.

Just checked the box and it's a spectra premium gm37k which checks out correct so that's good!

Cdnpont: good to know about having them refurbed!
