That should be an SD because it has A51, the option code for SD in 66 and early 67.

I wasn't sure with the VIN # 673617001218 on the registration, do we ignore the 6 at the beginning?
Tag in picture doesn't have the 6 in front.
Anybody now what the rest of the numbers are?
Thanks a bunch
Sorry for bugging you guys.
There is a bunch of knowledge in the club that's really nice
Thanks again
Bert

The trim tag will not have the "6" in front because the trim tag is not used for registration, the v.i.n. is. Go with the v.i.n exactly. The Canadian GM products in 1965 & 1966 carried the model year as the first number in the v.i.n. sequence rather than the 6th number like the U.S. models. For 1967 the Canadian v.i.n. sequence reverted to the same as the U.S., moving the model year number into 6th position.

Carl is right about the A51 appearing on the trim tag

And as you likely know already, 736 is Beaumont Custom, 17 is 2 door hardtop.

The 6 digit number is the sequential body number and the M35 is a Powerglide.

So if 736 is a Beaumont custom an 17 is a 2 Dr hardtop and 6 means m35 power glide then does that a51 on the trim tag still make it an 1966 Beaumont Sport Deluxe ?

No, sorry, the 6 digit number is what I meant to say, the 831725. The M35 means Powerglide.

Sorry for sounding like I don't know anything about Beaumonts but I don't know too much.
So I would like to say thanks to the site and the people that make this site happen.
The information is great
Thanks
Bert

I forgot to answer the other part of your question. Any 66 Beaumont with A51 on the tag is an SD, yes.

And I'm no Beaumont expert, you just happened to ask something about one that I knew a bit about. There's guys on here who know these things intimately!

Somewhere here on the site in the Beaumont section there's a real good discussion on the A51 option on 66 and early 67 cars. In a nutshell, up to about the start of Dec 66 (early in 67 production) A51 on the cowl tag meant SD. After that, it meant bucket seats.
