65-70 four speed disc brake pedal


Is it not reproduced?  I haven't checked Camaro stuff yet, but no on lists them on the Impala side.  You can get narrow brake pedals, and you can get wide "Disc Brake" pedals, but not the narrow "Disc Brake" pedals that I can see.

Nope, Chevelle is a trapezoid, Impala is a rectangle. Seems unique to the big car... good thing I hung onto it!

I might be able to "make" a new one with the "DISC BRAKES" medallion and a non-disc-brake pedal, we shall see...

They're unique to the B body Chevy's, and not reproduced.    I was fortunate to attain a very nice used one.   I'd say you'll need to continue with your plan of modifying a reproduction 4 speed brake pedal by putting the disc brake emblem in it.

What car is that in? Does it have a webpage? I see so few 4-speed cars would to see more pics. The wheel is a US piece, right? Looks great though!

I put this in my build thread but figured I'd post it here in case others need a pic as well and find this topic by search. This is my before-and-after of restoring/refurbishing my original. What do you think, is 60K miles believable with this pedal?

You've done good work, it looks fine to me. I can tell you've flipped the pad 180 degrees, which is the right thing to do to even out the wear. The photo I posted is in my 70 Parisienne that I put the 4 speed into. And yes, the wheel is for the US cars. I mounted the tach by my right knee, same as in my 2+2 rag, but realized I couldn't see it with the proper Parisienne steering wheel. My 2+2 rag also has the US wheel.

I grabbbed a four-piece Impala repro set off eBay for $59. That's brake, (plain) clutch, ebrake, and gas. I'll use the trim off the plain cutch pedal on the restored original, and then maybe see if I can cut the relief in the brake pedal to make it into a clutch as an experiment!

Does anyone know what the lower level cars (Biscayne, Strato Chief) got for a pedal when they had a standard trans and disc brakes? It's part number 3931413 instead of 3931416 but I have no idea what it looks like.

Is it a rubber pedal that says "Disc Brakes" in rubber? Seems like a lot of work to go to rather than just using the normal blank pedal in that case. But I've never seen one and have no idea!

You have already seen them as I quoted that they were the base non-power set of pedals that Clint posted a pic of in your brake pedal return spring thread... they were used for more than a decade...

Sorry Vincent but I either misunderstand or I disagree. At least according to the parts book, the base non-power cars would run 3884850, which is all standard transmission cars -except- disc brakes. That's the standard square pedal that's used and reproduced everywhere. But it looks nothing like the rounded-off pedals shown in the other thread, which confuses me. I think those are actually 58-64 pedals according to the pictures at 4speedconversions.com, but I'm still learning.

But disc Brake cars would receive either 3931416 (if Impala or above, which is what I have) or 3931413 (cars below Impala, like a Biscayne or Strato Chief four speed with disc brakes).

It's the 3931413 that no one seems to have a picture of - Power Disc Brakes in a four speed Strato Chief, Laurentian or Biscayne. The book says 750 series.

I'll take a look at my new Impala catalog as well since it covers 58-70 and see what it says and report back.

My bad... Discs! I don't have any of those but I do have a '68  Biscayne Cop car here with an auto and discs... it has the cheaper pad but is has disc brakes stamped in it... my '68 Strato Cop car with discs didn't have the word disc in the pad..

 Yes the lower priced  B body models had the 3931413 Disc brake pad . Extremely rare , as the disc brake option was rarely ordered on these economy models.

Here is a NOS one that I found years ago ( for a very lofty sum ) . I've been looking for approx 12 years, and have never seen another become available .

I have still not installed it on my 69 Biscayne ( and may not )

Wow, those are cool, thanks for sharing! Do you mind if I share those photos with the guy at 4speedconversions? His website is pretty complete and he has photos of all of the clips and stuff but doesn't have that pedal.

I'm truly surprised they went to the trouble of a different pedal on the brake with a stainless medallion on the low line cars... I assumed it was going to just be stamped in the rubber!
