80/90 weight. I believe is what is specified. For the 12 bolt posi I put 80/90 in with delco friction modifier.

for the m20 i recommend Delco GL 4 gear oil (special order at any GM dealer)......anything else eats up the brass in your trans.....the 12 bolt 80w90 Valvoline (works great in my ride)

If it's a posi, the GM specific posi oil (sorry I can't get you tell part number at the moment ) and no additive needed if you use that. For the Muncie 80/90 works great except in January!

For the new 12 bolt, any popular brand name 80/90, but non synthetic only.

And the wee bottle of the GM friction modifier.

Or the All-in-one GM stuff Carl suggests. (never knew there was such a product)

I haven't seen the litre cans of the GM posi oil in many years. I've only seen the Limited Slip additive.

I'm back at work after a couple of weeks off and found the number. 89021672 is specifically for posi before the synthetic days. However, it's discontinued. About 25 dealers in the country still have some stock. I have a note in my book that I wrote, Penzoil 550042083 is the same oil apparently.

As far as I've seen, the 992694 additive is no problem for supply, but the 89021672 is discontinued. A few dealers still show some of it though.

I've heard that mixed with sawdust and bananas will take away some of the howl in the Ford diffs.
