Need a boat? Truro $4,000

biggrin

I can feel the ride in this one, floats like a boat? Looks like a nice one.

MC and I have been discussing this one. I'm very tempted especially after seeing a similar one run 11.9's with that mighty 455. I love sleepers.

Looks like a nice one Todd and you can soup it up. What do you get for $4000?

It probably won't haze the tires since it likely has a 2.41 gearset out back. What a big, comfy car it would be. Too many ended up as derby cars where their mass & strength gave a real advantage.

At $4000 it is hard to go wrong. They were tough cars.

Years ago I read an article in Cars Illustrated about this high 11 second 70 Electra. While my issue of Cars Illustrated is long gone thanks to the internet I found it. Now this 455 is a bit radical (12.5:1 compression etc)  but it goes to show what a built 455 can achieve.

And its really close, a quick hop in the wife's new car and you're there...................... $4,000 is the tax on a car/truck that cost $26,600.

Unfortunately it's 3.5 feet longer than my puny garage! I'd hate to have that sit outside in the salty air.

That's no excuse, just get Darryl to help put an extension on your garage. He is experienced  biggrin and recently retired......

Todd, I have that magazine and it's hard to forget seeing that picture with light under the front tire!

And I love the arc welded bumper too.

Those big Park Avenues are NICE cars, even though they aren't Pontiacs.

My buddy's family car in high School. Only him and his grandfather drove so it was basically my buddy's car to use.  This was such a  nice car back in 75. We drove in it to school everyday, and Cam its a 455, the tires never stood a chance with us at the wheel.  This is the very model that proved to me that Buicks are as nice if not nicer than Cadillacs and ride better too.

PS: If that car was in Toronto it would be in my driveway or somewhere around my place already.

Funny, I already built an extension similar to this off the back of my garage. I needed room to store all my lawn and snow removal equipment so I could park a car in the garage!

 Piece of cake!  biggrin

Aha!  So if you move all that stuff to a shed, then you could make room for the Buick!  wink

Sadly my garage is only 16 feet long. Person who built it must have owned subcompacts...

I saw that. Spoke to the seller. He is selling it for the elderly owner who has had a death in the family. Sounds like a decent car.

Sounds like a steal, unless it is rusty somewhere that can't be seen.

Doesn't sound like it. As cool as it is, do I really need a boat?
