Beaumont Convertible question

My 66SD has a manual top in it that is spring loaded to assist in raising, I never even knew you could get a manual top in a GM car back then. I have had many Parisienne and chevy impala ragtops and all had power tops. How many of these cars have you guys seen that were non power and how hard to convert to a power top. It is one of those things that isn't that important because the top will always be down but if it is easy to do it might be worth it.

Mine is power and as you mentioned its down most of the time. (I havent raised it yet this year LOL)
Personally, if it came manual, Id leave it that way as I think thats somewhat unique!

My 64 is also an SD and has the manual top. It doesn't go up and down a whole lot except on some of these road trips for the night. Has been no problem as it is easy and quick but have considered installing a power set up. Everything including the switch is available and not for huge money. I've been told it is an easy swap. Am thinking about buying it state side this winter when I go south. It would be easy for you already being down there.

I have a 1962 with no power top but I think maybe they never were available for the 62's it was no problem putting up or down what I can remember when it was road worthy.

I'm at the stage where I will be installing my top soon. I do not have the springs for my 62 Acadian. . does anyone have a picture and dimension of the springs? I have a manual which looks like its a spring with a bar slid into it. Im assuming a spring stop in the center so the spring works both ways. Top up or down.

I will get a couple pics later today with measurements.
