1989 Corvette ZR1 - $3500 - Noonan, NB


Hard to believe a car that cost almost 100 grand new could be left to deteriorate like this.

I suspect the Mercury Marine V8 is likely toast. I wonder how hard parts are to get for that engine? Here's a good article on that engine. 12 quarts of oil!

not with there heads, its like buying a old house that's a fixer upper, you will hate it , and for god sake don't live in a reno. I can do a lot but I have my limits when the cost goes nuts, you cant dyi this stuff unless you are very good and in the know, screw ups will cost you

I'm curious because I don't know these cars very well, but what are the giveaways that this is a ZR-1?  Doesn't say so in the ad, and the pics don't show the rear of the vehicle to tell if it's widened.  No pics of the engine either.

The add title originally said ZR1. Perhaps the owner was wrong and someone pointed it out. Be better off if it wasn't as it'd be easier to restore.

Ah, that might explain it.  I wouldn't be able to pick one out, probably, except that I remember the tail lights were oval instead of round (IIRC) probably due to the body being widened to accept the tires.
