Look like 1965 GTO spinners.

Canadian Beaumonts had same spinner but no text.

Re the Dana cruise control unit, I presume you're talking about the type of units that were sold by Sears. If so, I think I have some installation information for you.

I bought a couple units a few years ago, but they've just sat. One is in the Sears box, the other is the same unit, but in a non-Sears box. The manual was a double sided photo copy, but wasn't very good. I fiddled around at a photo copy machine one day and made a much more usable manual. I'll take a look tomorrow to see what I have.

Back in the 90's i bought three DANA after market cruise kits at Canadian Tire. I got them cheap because they could not sell them. I guess the average shopper does not have enough mechanical skill to install them properly. They were beautiful kits and i presently have one in my 57 Pontiac and one in my 74 Chev Caprice. I do have an extra DANA kit but sadly i never kept the instructions for them. If i had the instruction manuals i would gladly send you one. Good luck.

I went through my stuff.  This is the same unit as the Sears, but as I said it had a poorly photocopied manual.   I did the best I could one day in front of the photocopier, and was able to make up a booklet.    Is this what you're looking for?  If so, I could make you a copy and send it your way.

Yes, the Popular Mechanics article shows the installation on a 69 Pontiac.    Both articles seem very good.

I had that same unit on my '69 2+2, which I drove to Ottawa and back from Regina. I had it installed for the trip back and it worked admirably well! Mine was "Canadian Tire" but looked identical, I assume the same mfr.

Here are pics of the cruise control. Wondering what the little coil is

I haven't looked at the paperwork, but I'm pretty sure the little coil (with the twisted pair wiring) is the pickup for the magnets on the driveshaft that sense vehicle speed.

those instructions certainly look like the one I have. The stalk mount control is exactly the same. Can you email me a scan or pics of the instruction pages?

thank you.

My DANA cruise control units are completely different than this. I must have the later units with the micro processor. My units are very compact and much more simple in design.

The round circle unit is the magnetic pick up. The piece with the lever is hooked up to brake or clutch pedal so as to cancel when that pedal is pressed. It uses a chain to connect.

I'll see if I can somehow scan the pages.   It might take me a few days to figure out where I can do this.

I was able to get to it a little quicker than I thought, so the booklet has been scanned and emailed to Phillip.   Hopefully it'll help him out.

If anyone else wants a copy let me know.

Clint, could I get a copy please? I had someone ask me if I am interested in installing a unit that appears to be the same as or very similar to this.

Do you still have my email address?

Phillip, make sure you check out this thread when you install your cruise if you haven't done it yet. It might spare you some complications.

OH mate! Was just checking that out! Great job! I was looking at mine and was wondering what to glue the magnet on with.

Great thread.
