Wow! Awesome car! I know I'm bit late but I just had the chance to finally read your story. Boy, when you go on a road trip, you really go on a ROADTRIP. Very cool. Congratulations on being November Car.

Thanks everybody for your kind words. I have to admit I am a little overwhelmed for all the love you have shown to my "mistress". If any of you ever get to Ottawa, feel free to drop me a line. Many thanks to Carl for filling in some of the history. Hearing the story of the border crossing brought another memory back.....So when Brock Yates invited me down to the Car and Driver magazine 50th Anniversary party at the Indianapolis Speedway, of course I brought the Pontiac. When crossing the border at the 1000 Islands bridge, near Brockville, Ontario, our border crossing guard was rather cool. I had to explain what a Canadian Pontiac was to him. He asked about the engine and transmission. I then joked if he would like a demonstration of the car's power and how Positraction worked. He actually took me seriously and said sure! Soooooo.....who am I to disregard an officer's request....I brought the revs up to about 5000rpm and dropped the clutch. The noise of the engine, the smell of the rubber and the 2 very dark (symmetrical) lines I left were hilarious and glorious. I glanced in my mirror to see if half a dozen New York State troopers or USA customs officers were going to chase me, but luckily they didn't.
