Saw a Chevy or gmc diesel with 700000 kms, lots with 300000 plus, these trucks last a long time. Im pretty sure they have the extra digit in the odo, likely added that when it went to kms from miles, which was around 76?

Looks pretty good....480,000 km for 34 years is only 14,100 per year. Doesnt say if its all original drivetrain. My 97 just turned 300,000, which works out to about the same mileage per year.
So, what is the secret to keeping a car on the road for that many kilometers?
My personal record is 305,000km in a 91 Volvo 240 Wagon with a 5 speed standard.
It nickeled and dimed me to death and I sold it for what I thought was pretty good money in 2004.
It would have 600,000 on it today if i was still daily driving it.
Regular oil changes and maintenance, a lot of kms per year, good DNA, and the commitment of the owner to keep driving it. Ive had 2 cars I kept to 350k, sold them and think they are still being driven. A good rust proofing is good too, I prefer rust check over krown.
That guy with the Volvo that had 3.5 million miles or kms on it just recently died, I assume the car is still going.

366,405 on our old girl when we parked it for the winter season. We treat her nice and keep up with the rustproofing, baths and wax. Not to mention service when due whether it appears to need it or not. sometimes you need to be proactive. It pays off in the end. For us we know it would be almost impossible to fine another one of these in diesel 2WD in this condition.
