Looking for a car jack.........

My buddy has a '56 Crown Vic that has been in the family since new and he is in need of the jack for that car. If anyone knows of where one may lay I (he)would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Do you know if any other years are the same?

When I get to my favourite wrecking yard next time I could watch for one. He has lots of 50's Fords.

I took this picture there on Saturday. I thought the overdrive emblem on this 2 door wagon was kind of cool. I don't recall seeing that before.

The Battleship Linoleum on the back seat on the Ford looks identical to the Linoleum I am looking for my 55 Pontiac station wagon including the beige colour. The only pieces that were saved were on the back seat. I can get repo but the creases are not the same.

55 and 56 Ford bumpers are the same.....as I recall.....so the jacks should be the same...

On the topic of overdrive......I don't believe it was a widely available option in Canadian built vehicles.

I can't recall seeing factory overdrive.....on any Oshawa built cars.....nor is it shown in the owners manuals...IIRC

Might be the same for Canadian built Fords.....My friends and I ....ALL had lots of mid-fifties fords....when we were in high school.....and NONE had overdrive.

I've seen it in a few Mercs....but pre-55.

I pulled a complete overdrive.....(trans,solenoid kick down,etc.....from a 54 Merc...in the mid-70's....for my 56 ford....and the Merc...had the chrome Overdrive script...on the trunk.

Being close to the border...it's possible that these cars (with overdrive)...could have been brought into Canada as used vehicles...
