Saw a 68 Beaumont in pieces this morning. Rough. What would it be worth?


Went for breakfast this morning with a group of retired guys from Dofasco, in talking, one fellow casually mentioned he had a 67 Beaumont in his garage in pieces. Been sitting for probably 20 years. Needles to say my eyebrows went way up!

Belongs to his son who is no longer interested, and he is thinking of clearing it all out. He wants his garage back.

So I went to see it. Buried deep in years of stuff, turns out its a hardtop 68 (I think), Custom or Deluxe... not sure, and it's pretty rough. Says it's in not too good of shape underneath. Pulled back some stuff and the rear fenders are rusted on the edges. He says it's a bucket seat car, but couldn't get the door open due to all the stuff piled alongside, and the windows are so darkly tinted so I can't see in. Small block is on the stand, can't get to it to see numbers and the TH350 is under the bench. New front fenders (or were at one time) are on the car with a darker coloured hood, and it appears to have a dorky aftermarket padded vinyl roof. Looks like most all the stuff is there scattered around in different places. Can't open the hood yet to see the tag.

So it's not often you get to have your blood pressure raised, by what could be potentially a hot find in your own neighborhood, but more or less it appears to be mostly a parts car, or at best a project car. But I really can't see enough to judge. But I told him to contact me when it's time to get rid of it all, and I'll relay that along to the Beaumont contingent here. Said he shouldn't have to advertise it, and I could probably find someone interested. He's realistic and knows it isn't worth much at this point, and I told him as much.

I know it's unrealistic to even expect a close estimate, but big ballpark, what would such a thing be worth, even rough and as a parts car? It's possible it's all there, and they couldn't have made many bucket seat cars, could they?

I know how you feel about not being able to have a good look at with all the crap around it,,very frustrating for sure..have same prob trying to see my 69 2+2 the fellow has in storage..hard to sleep lol

Yea, pretty extreme Bill. Couldn't even get in to see the engine clearly visible along the drivers side, for risk of breaking a leg. How does it ever get like that?

cdnpont lol I know I think mine was replaced with a 305,2 barrel but all I know forsure is the block is blue couldnt open the hood either and no lights..I have been driving it in my sleep though and runs nice lol

Without seeing the over all condition of it is hard to put a $$ figure on it.But just as a parts car ( depending on condition ) the front fenders I am guessing are probably NOS GM.They are going any where from $800.00 - $1000.00 each.Bucket seats now are $450.00 - $800.00. a set.Console $350.00- $500.00.Beaumont specific parts grille ect $1000.00- $1500.00

yep 1000 would be a safe bet for sure imho..motor and trans prob worth that or more and like 65post said if had to the parts would go fast

a beaumont hidden under chicken wire dry for 20 yrs is a find whatever model it is, at leadt you know where and what it is,thats step one, step two is the inspection cool find! 20 yrs WOW

Obviously has had some paint splashed on it ( red rad support ) so who knows what else was attempted.
Much closer inspection needed. Data tag could be an eye opener...or not.

 As George says...value unknown. Worst part of looking at a car torn apart is...what all is there? Can spend a ton of $$$ looking for missing parts. Owner may think they are all there untill you try to put it back together. Bodywork,chrome,interior.drive train..big dollar resto. To me,From what I can see (not much!) 2-2500(because of parts) to keep and restore...going to cost a TON!! Just need to go back and take a second look Mark..did you get his #?

 I figure 1500  to 2000 would probably be ballpark. I know this person as a older long time retired Dofasco operator. And he's just around the corner. He said he'll call me when ready. I'll try my best to make sure it get posted only here when he's ready. I think there would be a few guys here who might be interested it for parts or the like.
