The movie was based on a true story - however in real life the car chase part never happened.

 

Also in the book the car used to smuggle the drugs was a 1960 Buick - not a 69 Lincoln Mark 111

Pontiac Engineering's John Sawruck said at one of the POCI conventions that he prepared the cars for the movie when he was a young engineer. He did 2 or 3 of them. I presume this one is Oshawa built with a Chevy drivetrain.

That would be a nice driver. Check out the bench seat with fold down armrest. That there's a Le Mans Sport. It looks like a disk brake master cylinder so that is good. As was said, probably an Oshawa car with a 350 Chevy, not a bad thing at all.

One of the collisions was a real accident and not staged. They kept it in the film and paid off the person that got hit. I just do not remember which car it was.

Goodness... that undercarriage is scaly! Odd that he says, "It's in great shape mechanically, The interior is mint! Great sounding and performing and looking engine. Unique wheels." Makes me wonder he knows the body/frame is questionable or worse...

I'd say the car has issues, unfortunately.  Lots of rust bleed through in the trunk, which looks like it has already been touched up with flat black.  I wouldn't be surprised if there might be some bondo in the body here and there.  Might be better than it looks in the photos (but it's usually the other way around).  Exterior paint looks good, and interior looks good as well.

Nice looking car (except the wheels and tires) though...
