There was an old guy that lived down the road from us that did nothing but refurbished alternators, starters and generators. He has passed away, but his shop is still left in the state it was at the time he passed by his son as a shrine to him.
I went for a visit while he was still alive and his inventory, tools and machinery were mind-blowing. Some tools and machinery were hand built by him. He actually ran a big home-made generator/wind turbine on top his building feeding batteries that lit his shop. I used to see the wooden props (almost like wood airplane props) spinning occasionally when I'd drive by ... now they don't spin anymore.
