66 SD rag is almost alive

Moving from body work onto something easier, I put the motor in last night and am going to order UMI A-arms. Figure I will drive it in primer this year and work on blocking it whilst driving it.

Been busy busy busy at work, not much time for car but painting dash and window frame next, so I can finish wiring and drive it in primer., I have plenty of parts to bolt on now, my drop spindles showed up and my rear bars.

This motor has a big cam and I didn't want to mess around with vacuum problems so figured HydroBoost was the way to go.

Just wondering the details on the wheels and tires? Looking for ideas my current toy. I am usually more of a traditionalist when it comes to these cars but the fit and stance looks great!

Wheels are 18"Ridlers, 285 40's and 245 40's, I know what your saying about being a traditionalist as these cars as very few and far between.I don't know if many would have taken this on as this car was almost to far gone to save.  I brought it back and plan to drive the wheels off it rain or shine and hopefully it will never be in the trailer. I have one restored bone stock drum brake 283 powerglide rig, I couldn't handle two.

Laid down some satin black this weekend, wasn't my best effort, lots of dust in the air. Had to scuff it and reshoot it twice but looks better now, hopefully get the windshield in next week, trying to get this driveable in primer for the summer.

Almost ready for a windshield, waiting on a new pulley setup and should be close to firing it off, after 25 years.

Drop spindles are in, drive shaft is in, I forgot as it has been 30 years of how big of a pain it was running short water pump with no holes in the heads and headers. I finally ordered an Alan Groves setup and it worked out perfectly. Good thing I had numerous pulleys laying around as it took a few different combinations to get it lined up. Should be less than a month away from firing it up after 30 years.
