RE: Brain fart! Which is left or right wiper arm.

Left or right is always taken from sitting in drivers seat. Or rear of engine.

Interesting! I have owned my '64 CS since 1975 and have never noticed a difference in the wipers. Perhaps someone changed them before my ownership.
Incidentally, as a former high school English teacher I have to say that grammer is actually a proper noun as would be the case in a person's name; grammar is the set of rules which govern our language. Grammar check would be one example.
No offense intended whatsoever by the way. I could spend the rest of my life correcting grammar on this site.  Some of my biggest pet peeves are people who do not know the difference between its (possessive) and it's (contraction for it is)  It is amazing how many people would make the name of a car plural by adding an apostrophe, which, of course is totally incorrect.  Pontiac is singular; Pontiacs is plural. I guess old habits die hard.Wipers.JPG

Fyi, according to a nos dealer on ebay. The arms are labelled L1 or R1 are 14 inch for single speed wiper motors. And the arms labelled L2 or R2 are 15 inch for 2 speed wiper motors. The arm with the 45 degree bend is the drivers side.

Im still learning something new everyday.

What years are the same? I think they stopped being shiny for safety reasons about 63?

Keep in mind the US full size Pontiacs had opposing wipers until 1969. Our Canadian Pontiacs had synchronized wipers during the 60's - like in the above photo.

Excellent point, Clint. I am completely perplexed about the 45 degree angle wiper. I do not recall ever seeing a '64 Pontiac with designated left and right wipers. I guess there is always going to be a learning curve. (pun intended)

I thought there was something wrong with having one straight and one angled wiper arm. Never liked that the passenger side seemed to rest higher on the windshield, so I found another angled arm and replaced the straight one. Now I know better, and am glad I didn't throw it out.

Don't forget Clint, the US model one speed wiper cars had the synchronized wipers like Pete's Canadian car has.
